BOTULINUM TOXIN (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin)
Botox the brand name of a type Botulinum toxin, which is a drug that causes temporary paralysis of muscles. For cosmetic purposes it is injected in minute quantities to reduce wrinkles in the face. Dysport is another brand name of a similar agent. It works beautifully, and is very safe, with rare complications or side effects. The medical community has used Botox for over 40 years. It has been approved for cosmetic use in Europe for 20 years, and in the U.S. for 9 years. Botox is only FDA approved for use in frown lines over the nose, but it is widely used in the forehead and for crow’s feet wrinkles around the eyes. These are considered “off-label” uses, but we believe that with well-trained providers they are safe areas, and we get remarkable results treating these areas.
Botox lasts on average 3-4 months, but every patient is different, and for some it will last longer. If you get injections regularly, it lasts longer, and you may require less per visit. Botox injections are given with a very tiny needle, and can cause minor pain, but are far less painful than getting a vaccine, for example.
Botox is NOT just for women. Men may need more product because their muscles are stronger, but they get the same excellent results, and can look years younger with treatment.
We are both users and providers of Botox products, and we can personally attest to the results of this amazing drug. We LOVE Botulinum Toxin, and think you will too. Call today to book a consultation. If you decide it is not for you, the consult is free.
Coming in the spring is an alternative Botulinum Toxin from Merz Aesthetics, called Xeomin, which should offer some cost savings to our patients. We proudly carry Merz products, and will offer this one as well.
SPIDER VEIN SCLEROTHERAPY
Sclerotherapy involves injecting tiny amounts of an agent called a sclerosant in to the tiny blue and red veins of the legs to make them collapse and disappear. You can watch the veins disappear immediately in the office while we work! In this practice we use the safest and most effective of these products, which is called Asclera (from Merz pharmaceuticals). Not all veins can be treated with this method, so you will need to see us so we can evaluate you for treatment. The treatment is painless (according to our patients).
As an introductory offer, we are giving Asclera treatments for $150 per half hour. We have had great results with this treatment, and have many happy customers. Call us today and see if you can benefit from this simple, safe therapy.
DERMAL FILLERS (Radiesse, Restylane, Juvaderm)
Dermal fillers are natural substances (collagen and hyaluronic acid are the two most commonly used) that are injected in small amounts in to areas of the face that have lost fullness, or have wrinkles. They are made of material that the body makes itself, so no one is allergic to them, and they are broken down naturally over time. They are often referred to as “non-surgical facelift” because they can give results which previously could only be had with surgery. Dermal fillers are sometimes used in conjunction with Botox. There are different uses for each of the fillers, and each one excels in specific areas of the face. The amount of time that a dermal filler lasts depends on the patient, the type of filler being used, and the place where it is injected.
We are both users and providers of Radiesse and Dermal Fillers. Let us show you what they can do for you!
